The air conditioned fitness studios at the three Mid Devon leisure centres are fully equipped with the latest equipment and staffed by fully qualified Fitness Instructors. The Culm Valley Sports Centre Fitness Studio was updated in 2009. The new cardiovascular equipment is top spec from the Life Fitness Inspire Range including treadmills, cross trainers, cycles, rowers and summit trainers. The advanced console technology is designed to inspire the senses with ipod and USB compatibility. Touch screen technology allows you to operate your ipod as you workout. Other features include a virtual trainer option and workout landscapes. You can also create, plan, and track their own personal workouts free at the Life Fitness Virtual Trainer website.The summit trainers combine the best of total body cross training and climbing into one intuitive machine that will challenge every user resulting in a complete revolution in the way you exercise.

Lords Meadow Leisure Centre already had superb cardio vascular suite, but was pleased to launch 3 state of the art Concept 2 Rowers and 2 AMT cross trainers from Precor in 2009. Users at all levels benefit from the freedom of movement and variety these machines offer, designed to mirror human movement, making it natural, fluid and familiar whilst providing a thorough low impact workout.   With a range of cv equipment and a variety of resistance machines, each are of the body can be targeted in a variety of ways. You may prefer, however, to take advantage of the free weights room and Smiths machine, ideal for traditional weight lifting and body building.

The light and airy fitness studio at Exe Valley Leisure Centre was completely refitted at the end of 2008 and incorporates sound systems and integral televisions on many pieces of equipment.  The 40 station studio inlcudes Precor treadmills, bikes,steppers, cross trainers and Precor's latst innovation the adaptive motion trainers. Concept II rowers and a sci-fit egometer complete the range of aerobic equipment so there really is something to suit everyone. The resistance equipment is again Precor and offers a wide range which allows each area of the body to be targeted. There are also a range of dumbells, medicine ball, fit balls, bands, a stretching area and a separate free weight room and a Smith machine.
