FAQ
Q: When will my membership start?
A: Your membership starts on the day you pay your initial fee and give us your completed application form.
Q: I'm not great at form filling, do I have to complete it?
A: The receptionist will be happy to complete the form for you, then you will just need to read it through and sign where required.
Q: What happens if I change my mind when I get home?
A: Call us straight away and the receptionist will be happy to help you.
Q: Can I choose when the direct debit payment is taken from my account?
A: Unfortunately not. All membership direct debits are taken on the 28th of the month or the nearest working day.
Q: What happens if there is not enough money in my account?
A: If this happens your membership will be put on hold until we receive the payment that was due. This can be brought into the leisure centre. You will receive a letter if we were unable to collect the direct debit. It is very useful if you can bring this along with you.
Q: What happens if I am seriously ill and cannot use my membership?
A: In the event that you are hospitalised, for example, or break a limb, just contact us to let us know the situation. Your membership will probably be put on hold until you are fit to exercise again.
Q: Can I decide to take a break from being a member?
A: Of course you may, however you will be charged another joining fee when you decide to start being a member again.
Q: How do I cancel my membership?
A: We would be very sorry to lose you as a member, but if you decide to cancel you will need to give us the appropriate written notice, two months for Committed Members and one month for other membership types. You will also need to tell your bank if you are making payments by direct debit. Remember that if you are currently within the first six months of a Committed Membership you can only cancel after month four, as you will have signed a six month membership contract.
Q: What happens if I lose my membership card?
A: Don't worry we can issue you with a new one and cancel the old one. There will be a small charge for this.
Q: I will be away quite a few times in the year, what happens to my membership?
A: You can freeze your membership for a small fee, up to twice in any 12 month period. You pay a very much reduced monthly fee for up to two months after which time your usual fee is taken.
