FAQ

Q: When will my membership start?
A: Your membership starts on the day you pay your initial fees, proof of identity and status and give us your completed application form.

Q: I'm not great at form filling, do I have to complete it?
A: The receptionist will be happy to complete the form for you, then you will just need to read it through and sign where required.

Q: What happens if I change my mind when I get home?
A: Call us straight away and the receptionist will be happy to help you.

Q: Can I choose when the direct debit payment is taken from my account?
A: Unfortunately not, there are two payment dates and depending upon when you join your payment may be taken either in the middle or at the end of the month.

Q: What happens if there is not enough money in my account?
A: If this happens your membership will be put on hold until we receive the payment that was due. This can be brought into the leisure centre. You will receive a letter if we were unable to collect the direct debit. It is very useful if you can bring this along with you.

Q: What happens if I am seriously ill and cannot use my membership?
A: In the event that you are hospitalised, for example, or break a limb, just contact us to let us know the situation. Your membership will probably be put on hold until you are fit to exercise again. We will consider your personal circumstances, however if you have taken a Loyalty Membership you are signing up for 12 payments, even if you are given a break in payments.

Q: Can I decide to take a break from being a member?
A: Of course you may, however you will be charged another induction fee or joining fee as appropirate when you rejoin.

Q: How do I cancel my membership?
A: We would be very sorry to lose you as a member, but if you decide to cancel you will need to give us written notice. You will also need to tell your bank if you are making payments by direct debit.  Remember that the annual option and loyalty option are both a 12 month commitment so all payments remain due if you cancel before the 12 month contract expires.

Q: What happens if I lose my membership card?
A: Don't worry we can issue you with a new one and cancel the old one. There will be a small charge for this.

Q: I will be away quite a few times in the year, what happens to my membership?
A: Your membership will continue to be valid, as long as you keep up the payments. Membership still represents excellent value for money for regular customers, even if you take a few holidays in the year, as you can easily make up for it and get good use from your membership at other times of the year.

Q: Can I freeze my membership?
A: There is no freezing facility for Lifestyle Plus, Lifestyle or Junior Lifestyle Memberships.
