Course Programme Announced

Wednesday, 7 December 2011 Mid Devon Leisure has announced the training and courses programme for 2012 here on the website. The approved training centres offer courses in Emergency First Aid at Work (one day), First Aid at Work (three days), Requalification (2 days) all of which give successful candidates an HSE approved 3 year certificate. National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses are also available, as are Amateur Swimming Association Teaching Aquatics (Swimming) at Level 1 and 2.    For details of...

Zest Prize Draw Winner

Monday, 5 December 2011 The winner of the 'Go Green' prize draw was announced on 1st December. Stephen Skinner, a customer at Culm Valley Sports Centre was picked at random from the 900+ customers on the Mid Devon Leisure email news database, winning a year's full Zest Membership, worth over £320. Social Run in Crediton, November 12th

Thursday, 10 November 2011 The Crediton Running Club, in partnership with Lords Meadow Leisure Centre has organised a social run with the 1st Crediton Scout Group based at Newcombes, Crediton on Saturday 12th November. The qualified running club Leaders will lead three runs of approx 2, 4 and 6 miles leaving the Scout Hut at 9am on Saturday. Open Day a Success at Culm Valley Sports Centre

Monday, 17 October 2011 The recent Open Day at Culm Valley Sports Centre was a great success with many new visitors arriving to see what the centre has to offer. The various taster sessions and classes were well attended, especially Spinning and Latin Mix. The free fitness inductions were also well attended. New Beginners Running Course with Crediton Running Network

Wednesday, 28 September 2011 On Monday 3rd October at 9.30am there is a free taster session at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre for anyone who wants to have a go at running. Led by Nancy Dowling, Karla Gregory and other helpers, the session will last approximately an hour and is for complete beginners or people who have not run for a long time, who feel they may have lost their fitness. Culm Valley Fitness Bonanza a Great Success!

Wednesday, 28 September 2011 Forty customers and staff took part in the first Culm Valley Sports Centre Fitness Bonanza Weekend last weekend that started at 6.15 on Friday night with the option of six classes over a two hour period followed by a quiz.  With everyone still feeling a bit stiff from the night before, Saturday morning started with a full on cardio combat session before breakfast and finished at 5.00pm with the whole group joining in with a boot camp circuit.  Classes on offer over the two...

Social Run Raises Money for Shelterbox

Thursday, 15 September 2011   30 runners of all abilities from around the area gathered at Thornes Farm Shop on Saturday 10th September to enjoy a social run and raise money for charity. Crediton Running Network organised the event with Carey Thorne, using the Farm Shop as the starting and finishing point. Exciting happenings at Culm Valley

Monday, 8 August 2011 Culm Valley Sports Centre is excitedly awaiting completion of works to their ‘second dance studio’. This air conditioned room will be used for a variety of classes, including the nationally known ‘Spinning’. With their qualified fitness team the new studio will host spinning classes throughout the week, including a Fifty Plus Spinning Class and also a Teen Spinning Class. A New Running Group from 23rd July

Wednesday, 20 July 2011 Following the very successful launch of Crediton Running Network at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre on 16th July, there will be a new group led run starting on 23rd July from the centre. Russ Evans will be starting the new session which will add to the variety of sessions the club offers.
